Step one:
Create a new layer, draw a #3F2A1C rectangle.
Load select the entire face picture then duplicate the layer. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur > 8.2px.
Now add this Custom Pattern into your pattern list. You will need this when you set the pattern overlay settings.
Add the following layer styles: Inner Shadow, Pattern Overlay, Gradient Overlay, Stroke.
Step two:
Create a new layer, draw anoher rectangle but this time instead of brown color code provided in step one, use #00000 - Black.
Set the layer's blending mode to Lighten.
Add the following layer styles: Gradient Overlay.
